Akarana Exotics is a small cattery located in Arkansas. Our cats are raised and kept as part of our family. We restrict ourselves to very few selective breedings, resulting in usually two to three litters per year.
1995 we started showing Persians in FiFe. Since 2007, our breeding program is focused on Exotic Shorthairs under the Akarana prefix in CFA and TICA. Our cats are DNA-tested PKD negative.
Our Exotic breeding program would not exist without the help, advice and support of Kathleen P. Holahan from Calivan cattery in Portland, OR who shared her lines with us and provided us with our foundation exotics.
Akarana Cattery is named for the Maori name of the city of Auckland, New Zealand.
